Thank you for visiting my personal website.  I am Scott Singleton.  I live in Westminster Maryland and work at the Carroll County Workforce Development Center.  My position at CCWD is Business Consultant and my focus is providing business and employment training and coaching. 

Professional Summary:  My personal qualities and soft skills have been essential to achieving high standards of performance and results in the workplace. Co-workers have described me in the following manner: Go-getter, team player, amazing relationship manager, dedicated, and an irreplaceable and great asset to the team. I am committed to providing the best possible customer service and using creative problem solving skills to achieve positive outcomes. Energy, passion, persistence, and positive attitude are characteristics and fundamentals that enable me to accomplish desired results.

February 2017:  I started a new position with Carroll County Government within the Department of Economic Development.  I am a Business Consultant, working at the Carroll County Workforce Development.

What I do at Carroll County Workforce: Develop and promote Business and Employment programs and services. Support economic growth through workforce development, recruitment, job matching, training, retention, and skills assessment. Enhance marketing and networking with employers, HR directors, and hiring managers. Serve as leader of the job club weekly meeting group for job seekers.

About me: I have lived and worked in Carroll County for over 20 years, working in positions related to health fitness, sports management, recreation, and the wellness industry.  I was a local small business owner for more than 10 years, and I have developed several websites that generate sales through affiliate marketing and online advertising.  During the course of my various career professions, I have worked with large international corporations, IBM and Marriott, managed a sports park and sports events with Carroll County Recreation & Parks, owned two fitness and weight loss centers, and worked in Higher Education and Athletics at McDaniel College.  My lifelong work and community experience has focused on helping people, coaching, collaborating, and creating action plans that have provided opportunities for positive outcomes and an enhanced quality of life.  I've been active in the community and have served as a volunteer with local organizations, including:  Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, Worksite Wellness committee, Carroll County SHRM Board, and McDaniel College Employee Advisory Board.  When not at work, I can often be found working in my home office on various special projects, blogging, website development, online marketing, affiliate programs, SEO, and Social Media.

I was co-chair of an employee wellness committee, and was a member of several business organizations including the Hampstead Business Association and the Manchester Area Merchants Association.  I enjoy networking with business and health professionals from various organizations including the Carroll Hospital Center and the Carroll County Health Department. 

In summary, I’m an entrepreneur, educator, coach, and business service provider who is passionate about helping people, improving opportunities in the community for business and career development, and striving to make a positive social impact utilizing my professional and interpersonal skills.
